SAY IT SIMPLY

“This is family prayer.”

“We talk to Heavenly Father.”

“I can pray with my family.”

LESSON FLOW

1. Introduce the words  Teach the words “family prayer.” Have the children say them several times together.

2. Song  Make a circle, hold hands, and sing “Family Prayer.” Walk in a circle, kneel down, and fold arms at the right places.

3. Picture  Show the family praying picture. Point out folded arms, bowed heads, and closed eyes. Say: “This family is having family prayer.”

4. Practice  Invite the children to kneel, fold their arms, bow their heads, and close their eyes. Say: “In family prayer, we thank Heavenly Father and ask Him to bless our family.”

5. Finger verse  Raise one finger at a time for mother, father, brother, sister, and me. End by saying, “Together our family kneels down to pray.”

6. Repeat & close  Have the children say, “I can pray with my family.” Bear a short testimony that prayer blesses families.
