SAY IT SIMPLY

“Jesus was baptized.”

“I can be baptized when I am eight.”

“After baptism I can be confirmed.”

LESSON FLOW

1. Show Jesus’s baptism  Point out Jesus, the water, and John the Baptist. Explain that Jesus was baptized to obey Heavenly Father.

2. Follow the example  Tell the children that when they are eight years old, they can choose baptism too.

3. Show a child being baptized  Explain that baptism is by immersion, going all the way under the water.

4. Confirmation  Show the confirmation picture and explain that after baptism we can receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

5. Song  Sing “Baptism.” Let the children pretend to walk to the water and fold arms reverently.

6. Repeat & close  Invite the children to say, “I will be baptized and confirmed.” Share your testimony of baptism.
