• Picture of the current prophet, if available

SAY IT SIMPLY

“This is Jesus Christ.”

“The Church of Jesus Christ has scriptures.”

“The Church of Jesus Christ has prophets.”

LESSON FLOW

1. Point to Jesus  Show the picture of Jesus Christ and ask, “Who is this?” Answer together: “Jesus Christ.”

2. Say the Church’s name  Repeat a few words at a time: “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.”

3. Show the scriptures  Hold up the scriptures. Explain that Jesus tells us what He wants us to know in the scriptures.

4. Show the prophet  Display a picture of the current prophet. Explain that Jesus speaks to His prophets and we have a prophet today.

5. Marching song  March together while singing “The Church of Jesus Christ.” Emphasize “I belong.”

6. Repeat & close  Have the children say, “I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ.” Bear testimony that this is His Church.
