SAY IT SIMPLY

“A prophet teaches us what Jesus wants us to do.”

“I can follow the prophet.”

“Heavenly Father blesses me when I obey.”

LESSON FLOW

1. Show Joseph Smith  Explain that Joseph Smith was a prophet. He listened to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

2. Show the current prophet  Explain that we have a prophet today who teaches us the right way to go.

3. Follow-the-leader  Have the children walk behind you, stop, turn, clap, or fold arms. Say: “We are following.”

4. What prophets do  Tell the children that prophets help us know what Jesus wants us to do.

5. Song  Sing “Follow the Prophet.” Let the children march in place or tap their knees to the beat.

6. Repeat & close  Invite the children to say, “I will follow the prophet.” Bear testimony that Heavenly Father blesses us when we listen.
