LESSON FLOW

1. Picture  Show the family at church. Say: “They are being reverent.” Explain that reverent means quietly thinking about Heavenly Father and Jesus.

2. Practice  Practice talking with quiet voices, walking with quiet feet, sitting quietly, listening to teachers, and thinking about Jesus.

3. Song  Sing “I Will Try to Be Reverent.” Actions: hands over heart / point to self / make a housetop / hug self.

4. Prayer practice  Practice folding arms, bowing heads, and closing eyes. Explain that these are reverent things we do during prayer.

5. Church reminder  Say: “At church we can be calm, quiet, and ready to listen.” Compliment the children when they do it.
