LESSON FLOW
1. Picture Show the picture of Jesus. Say: “Jesus taught us to use kind words.” Then teach the words, “I’m sorry.”
2. Song Sing the chorus of “I’m Trying to Be like Jesus.” Actions: hug self / nod / hug self / nod.
3. Scripture story Show Nephi building the ship. Tell: “Nephi’s brothers were unkind and would not help. Later they were sorry and helped. Then everyone was happy again.”
4. Dramatization Pretend to cut wood, carry it, hammer nails, and lift sails. Keep it active and simple.
5. Practice kind words Give easy examples: “I bumped you.” “I grabbed the toy.” Help the children answer, “I’m sorry.”
6. Repeat & close Have the children say, “I’m sorry.” Testify that kind words bring happiness.
