SAY IT SIMPLY

“I will obey.”

“I can listen.”

“I can help right away.”

LESSON FLOW

1. Action game  Ask the children to stand up, raise hands, turn around, clap, and sit down. Praise them for obeying.

2. Picture  Show the garden picture. Explain that the children were asked to help, and they said, “I will obey.”

3. Scripture  Read: “Children, obey your parents … for this is right.” Keep it short, then invite the children to say, “I will obey.”

4. Song  Sing “Quickly I’ll Obey.” Actions: call with hands / run in place / nod.

5. Puppets  Mommy says, “Be kind to your sister.” What will you say? Daddy says, “Time to go to bed.” What will you say? Grandmother says, “Come to dinner.” What will you say? Jesus says, “Love one another.” What will you say?

6. Repeat & close  Have the children say, “I will obey.” Testify that obeying brings peace and happiness.
