SAY IT SIMPLY

“I am a child of God.”

“Heavenly Father knows me.”

“Heavenly Father loves me.”

LESSON FLOW

1. Song
Sing “I Am a Child of God.” Repeat the first verse two or three times and invite the children to sing with you.

2. Scripture
Say: “You have a mother and father on earth. You also have a Heavenly Father.” Read: “All of you are children of God.”

3. Moses story
Show Moses on page 99. Pretend to climb the mountain, then fold arms to pray. Tell: “God said to Moses, ‘Thou art my son.’ Moses learned he was a child of God.”

4. Name activity
Bring one child up at a time. Say: “This is [name]. [Name] is a child of God.” Let the class repeat each child’s name and the phrase.

5. Picture
Show page 10. Point to each child and ask, “Is this person a child of God?” Nod yes. Point to yourself and the class too.

6. Repeat & close
Have the children say, “I am a child of God.” Testify that Heavenly Father knows and loves every child in nursery.
